ORDAR · GEO-SOCIAL PRODUCT

A live radar for what is happening nearby

ORDAR is a map-first geo-social platform developed to help people discover nearby places, offers, events and conversations while they are still relevant. It combines local discovery, social publishing and location-aware commerce in one immediate interface.

Instead of asking users to search through old listings or content shaped by who they already follow, ORDAR starts with place and time: what is around me, what is new, and what can I act on now?

Local information loses value when it arrives late

Most discovery products are organised around search history, followed accounts or static directories. That makes it difficult to notice a new independent business, a short-lived offer, an event starting nearby or a useful conversation unfolding in the same neighbourhood.

ORDAR was designed around a different behaviour: open the map and immediately see recent, location-specific activity contributed by businesses and local people.

Order + radar + social

Discover nearby

Browse spots, food, people, events, freebies and offers through a map centred on the user’s current location.

Pin in one step

Publish location-aware content quickly, making an offer, recommendation or update visible to people around that place.

Join the conversation

See current local commentary and connect with people through a shared context: the place both users are exploring.

The map is the product interface

ORDAR turns the city into a browsable social surface. Category shortcuts keep discovery focused, while map pins and compact content cards show what is available without forcing users into a long search-and-filter journey.

Immediate local discovery

Immediate local discovery

A nearby view surfaces recent places and content around the user. Search can expand to another city, but the default experience remains grounded in what can be reached now.

Offers published where they matter

Offers published where they matter

Businesses and creators can pin visual content to a location. The post becomes discoverable through proximity rather than depending entirely on followers or advertising reach.

Short comments and recommendations appear directly on the map, revealing current sentiment, practical tips and spontaneous activity around a district.

Real local insight, tied to real places

ORDAR connects photo sharing with location details.

The product concept uses geolocation attached to photo uploads to keep content anchored to where it was created. This “real” policy supports more useful local context and reduces the distance between seeing something interesting and visiting it.

The spatial layer can combine user contributions with useful city datasets such as attractions, sports facilities, recreation and culture locations, public amenities and commercial destinations.

2D and 3D maps

A flexible visual layer for navigating districts, landmarks and nearby activity.

Photo geolocation

GPS metadata connects visual posts with the place that gives them meaning.

Recent-first content

The experience prioritises immediacy so the map reflects what is happening now.

Designed for city life

ORDAR serves people whose decisions are strongly shaped by location and timing:

Tourists

Find current local recommendations and practical information beyond static travel guides.

Travellers

Discover food, offers, events and useful services in an unfamiliar neighbourhood.

Local communities

Meet nearby people, share what is happening and strengthen connections around common places.

A platform for local commerce and community value

ORDAR community value model connecting local demand, resources and social participation.
ORDAR is designed to bridge local demand, underused resources and community participation.

For local businesses, proximity creates a direct path from discovery to a visit. Offers can reach people who are already nearby, helping independent shops make better use of timely inventory and foot traffic.

For communities, the same infrastructure can support social connection: people exchange local knowledge, discover shared interests and participate more actively in the places around them.

  • Strengthen community bonds through local conversation and shared discovery.
  • Balance resource utilisation by matching nearby demand with timely offers and available services.
  • Improve quality of society by making neighbourhood information easier to contribute and access.

From concept to working platform

Fortemont developed ORDAR as a product experience spanning brand direction, interaction design, map-based user flows and a working web platform. The proof-of-concept roadmap covered spatial-data integration, interface refinement, multilingual support, user testing, content development and business validation.

The result demonstrates how a geo-social product can connect three activities that are usually separated: discovering the city, publishing local knowledge and converting nearby attention into real-world action.
