Founder Steven Cheng’s XR facility-management work recognised with SHKP and Kai Shing
Fortemont is proud to share a milestone for founder Steven Cheng and the teams behind Inspekly and XRFM: the Extended Reality (XR) and Augmented Reality Maintenance Management (ARMM) initiative with Sun Hung Kai Properties, Kai Shing Management Services and International Commerce Centre was named the Technology winner at the IWFM Impact Awards 2024.
The recognition places Hong Kong property technology on an international stage, highlighting how spatial data, digital twins, AR workflows and facilities operations can come together inside one of the city’s most complex commercial properties.

International recognition for an ICC innovation programme
The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management listed the winning entry as “Extended Reality (XR) – Augmented Reality Maintenance Management (ARMM), Kai Shing Management Services – International Commerce Centre.” IWFM described the ARMM platform as an extended-reality technology rolled out at ICC to support business continuity, sustainable operations and facilities-management service delivery.
Sun Hung Kai Properties announced that Kai Shing, one of the Group’s property management companies, became the first Hong Kong winner of the IWFM Technology Award. Kai Shing’s own announcement also noted that ICC had deployed its XRFM platform in property management work since 2022, combining real and virtual environments through AI, IoT, Digital Twin and big-data analysis.

Why the work matters
For large commercial properties, maintenance work depends on knowing exactly where an issue is, what asset is involved, what has happened before and what action should happen next. ARMM and XRFM bring that context into the field of work, letting managers and technicians interact with physical and virtual information together.
According to IWFM, the solution supports daily operations including patrolling, facilities checking, training and emergency handling. The award write-up also reported measurable operational gains, including a 25% reduction in paper usage, 50% shorter reporting time, 65% higher work efficiency and 75% higher productivity.
This appears transformational. This is where FM is going in the future.

A founder milestone for Fortemont
For Steven Cheng, the award is more than a client success. It reflects a long-running Fortemont belief: technology becomes valuable when it is designed around daily work, operational evidence and the people responsible for keeping real places running.
Through Fortemont’s product and implementation work around Inspekly, Digital Twins, AR Work Orders and XRFM, Steven has helped turn advanced spatial technology into a practical facilities-management layer for enterprise properties. The IWFM recognition with SHKP and Kai Shing validates that direction at international level.
